Depression is a common illness worldwide, with more than 264 million people affected. It is a leading cause of disability worldwide and is a major contributor to the overall global burden of disease. The main reason of increasing the rate of this mental disorder is that people are not ready to take treatment or they are not able to receive the treatment due to the incapability of paying huge fee amount of psychiatrists.
Another reason that came in view after I talked to many people suffering from depression or anxiety is that they don’t want to reveal their identity to their doctors. They say that it’s scary to sit in front of a person you don’t know and then talk about all your insecurities.
“The shame of having a mental health problem keeps folks from seeking help or even talking about suffering from depression,” says Bob Livingstone, author of The Body Mind Soul Solution: Healing Emotional Pain Through Exercise.
So , I have been thinking for sometimes to develop an android app that will connect psychiatrists and patients. This application will not reveal the identity of patients to their doctors if they don’t want to show their faces and don’t want to tell their names and other things and the fee for the treatments will be far less than what doctors take in their physical clinics. In this way through this application we will be able to deal with both the reasons that refrain patients from taking treatment.
